Four PhD and three Master of Science (with thesis) degree students of the Department recently concluded their programmes. The students had their oral examinations in the months of June and August, 2018, thus bringing to an end programmes that started in 2015 (for the PhD students) and 2016 (for the M.Sc students).
The four new doctoral degree candidates are: ADEWOLE Matthew Temitope (The National Emergency Management Agency and Humanitarian Crisis from the Boko Haram Insurgency in Nigeria), ALABI Adesina Muhydeen (Committee System and the Legislative Process of the Nigerian National Assembly), ADELANA Olamide Samson (The Code of Conduct Bureau and Nigeria’s Anti-Corruption War, 1997 – 2017) and EBIRIM Samuel Ihenacho (The Military in the War against Boko Haram Insurgency in Nigeria). While Adewole, Alabi and Adelana were supervised by Professor A. S. Obiyan, Ebirim was supervised by Dr. O. Awofeso.
The three Master candidates, supervised by Professor N. O. Mimiko, mni, are IDOWU Adewale Harrison (Election Management and Peaceful Democratic Transitions in Nigeria and Ghana), ADETUYI Oluwatosin Adesola (Foreign Assistance and the Management of Internally Displaced Persons in Nigeria) and OLATUNJI Gbemisola Mary (National Agency for the prohibition of Trafficking in Persons and Human Trafficking in Edo State of Nigeria).
The candidates are currently concluding the necessary administrative processes to enable the University Senate approve their results. Their oral examinations bring the total number of postgraduate students of the Department who have completed their programmes in the last 12 months to 25 for M. Sc. and 11 for PhD.
